About me

I’m a content writer and marketing specialist based in Manitoba, Canada. Writing and editing are my first loves, but I also have experience in website creation, strategy planning, advertising, public relations, and journalism. I’m passionate about finding the story in every project, no matter the topic.

If I’m not plugging away at my keyboard, you can likely find me chasing after my two sons, working on my latest oil painting, or jogging with my equally out-of-shape Rottweiler.

Work experience

Copywriter

Steinbach Credit Union
2020 – 2022

  • Wrote a variety of digital content, including articles, infographics, web pages, newsletters, and digital ads.
  • Created an article series to help increase SCU’s social media presence and drive email traffic to the website. I conducted interviews with subject-matter experts, wrote case study-styled articles, and used that content across both platforms.
  • Developed an email marketing strategy and wrote email content for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer audiences. Using internal audience data and research from Environics Analytics, I was able to create targeted email content to both reduce email fatigue, and increase traffic to our landing pages (resulting in higher conversions).
  • Managed the company’s Facebook and LinkedIn platforms.
  • Wrote content for internal audiences; managing the company’s intranet platform, and writing memos and speeches on behalf of the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Wrote a series of online content for SCU’s digital banking platform, as the company was switching to a new banking platform. For staff, this included writing content to help frontline staff better answer member questions, such as manuals, tutorials, and frequently asked questions. For members, this included communications to help members understand how the transition would work, and how to use the new platform.
  • Wrote website content and assisted the Website Specialist in managing the CMS platform for the company website, ensuring accessibility and user experience standards were met.
  • Rewrote and redesigned a series of landing pages to be more user-friendly and drive higher conversions. Using competitor and market research, as well as heat-mapping our previous landing pages, our digital team was able to better understand how our audiences interacted with landing pages, and how we could give more relevant information.
